On July 3, a carrier group of the Chinese Peoples Liberation Army Navy—consisting of the aircraft carrier Shandong, the guided-missile destroyers Yan’an and Zhanjiang, and the guided-missile frigate Yuncheng—arrived in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region in the morning, kicking off a five-day visit. The Hong Kong SAR Government held a grand welcoming ceremony for the visiting fleet at the Ngong Shuen Chau Barracks.

7月3日，由中国人民解放军海军航空母舰山东舰，导弹驱逐舰延安舰、湛江舰及导弹护卫舰运城舰组成的航母编队，携舰载战斗机、直升机和陆战队员，于3日上午抵达香港特区，开启为期5天的访问活动。香港特区政府在昂船洲军营为舰艇编队访港举行隆重欢迎仪式。

At 8:00 a.m., the Shandong and its three escort ships sailed in formation into Victoria Harbour, accompanied by vessels of the Hong Kong SAR Government, garrison ships and helicopters. On the flight deck of the Shandong, 10 carrier-based fighter jets were displayed, while over 700 naval officers and sailors in white uniforms stood in formation to spell out the phrase "National Security, Family Well-being", expressing their deep patriotism and heartfelt blessings for the people of Hong Kong. On the water, Hong Kong SAR firefighting vessels offered a ceremonial "water gate" salute; in the air, government helicopters provided a live broadcast of the fleets arrival; and along the shore, large crowds of Hong Kong residents waved to the visiting sailors.

3日8时，山东舰和3艘属舰组成纵队队形，在香港特区政府船队，驻香港部队舰艇、直升机伴航伴飞下，驶向维多利亚港。山东舰飞行甲板上，10架舰载战斗机列阵，700余名海军官兵身着白色海军军装，列队排出“国安家好”4个大字，表达爱国爱港的浓浓深情和对香港同胞的美好祝福。海上，特区政府消防船用“水门礼”欢迎舰艇编队；空中，特区政府伴飞直升机全程现场直播编队进港实况；岸边，大批香港市民向来访的海军官兵挥手致意。

According to the scheduled plan, theShandongandYan’ananchored at the western mooring area of Victoria Harbour, while theZhanjiangandYunchengdocked at the Ngong Shuen Chau Barracks pier.

按照预定方案，山东舰和延安舰在维多利亚港西锚地锚泊，湛江舰和运城舰停靠昂船洲军营码头。

At around 10:00 a.m., the Zhanjiang lowered its gangway. Naval leaders, personnel from the formation, and representatives disembarked and stepped onto the Ngong Shuen Chau Barracks pier, where they warmly shook hands and exchanged greetings with representatives from various sectors of Hong Kong society.

10时许，湛江舰放下舷梯，海军和编队有关领导及官兵代表踏上昂船洲军营码头，与前来迎接的香港各界人士亲切握手、相互问候。

The welcoming ceremony began in a warm and friendly atmosphere. As the stirring national anthem was played, Chief Executive of the Hong Kong SAR John Lee Ka-chiu delivered a speech. On behalf of the SAR Government and Hong Kong citizens, he extended a heartfelt welcome to the visiting naval fleet.

欢迎仪式在热情友好的氛围中开始，雄壮的国歌奏响，香港特区行政长官李家超致辞。他首先代表香港特区政府和香港市民，对海军舰艇编队的到来表示热烈欢迎。

Mr. Lee stated that this year marks the 28th anniversary of Hong Kong’s return to the motherland, the 28th anniversary of the PLA garrisons presence in Hong Kong, and the fifth anniversary of the implementation of the Hong Kong National Security Law. He noted that the visit of the Shandong carrier group at this historic moment is especially inspiring. Over the years, whether through the steadfast defense by the PLA garrison in Hong Kong or through the visits by modern naval fleets, the "Pearl of the Orient" has shone even more brightly. Under the principle of "One Country, Two Systems," Hong Kong continues to contribute to the nation’s development.

李家超表示，今年是香港回归祖国28周年，也是中国人民解放军进驻香港28周年，亦是香港国安法公布实施5周年。海军山东舰航母编队在这个历史时刻访问香港，特别振奋人心。多年来，不论是解放军驻香港部队的坚定守护，还是海军现代化舰队的多次访港活动，都使“东方之珠”更放异彩，让香港在“一国两制”下，为强国建设作出贡献。
